Turkish Bath

This is an exciting experience at the traditional Turkish Bath “CAGALOGLU HAMAMI” which is more than 300 years old.

A classical Turkish Bath has a place for undressing, a hot room and a reception section to get cold and refresh.

Guests will be first taken to the undressing section where they will put on the special cloth called “PESTEMAL”. Then they will proceed into the hot room to lie for a time on the raised hot marble platform called “GOBEKTASI” where they sweat profusely.

Then, they will get scrubbed with the traditional fabric by the professional staff of the bath called “TELLAK”. This special cleaning session is followed by a fresh up massage.

Just at that moment, a surprise belly dancer and gypsy musicians enter the hot room. The belly dancer performs her show on top of the gobektasi (the heated marble platform).

After the show, guests will have their new soft towels and taken to the reception part to get refresh. While relaxing, soft drinks and fresh fruits will be served.

During the tour, the bath will be rented exclusively by our group and there will be no other clients. So, if they want, men and women in the group will have the tour together.

Although we provide special fabric called “pestemal” for each guest to wear, we still suggest the guests to bring their own swimming suits.
