Red Valley, also known as Kızılçukur Valley, is a 15 minute drive from Göreme, close to Ortahisar. It is a wonderful spot to watch the sunset as rare red tuff rocks makes the sunset even better. You can hike through little paths, see small cave churches and vineyards.
Visit Cavusin village, a Greek town whose history goes back to the Early Christian Period. The rock cut buildings have collapsed because of erosion but the churches are still in place and being used as dovecotes. Then visit Goreme Valley consisting of steep cliffs and many hidden churches dating from second half of 9th century.
