Princes’ Islands
Board the private boat from the pier of Ciragan Palace Kempinski for 90-minute sail to Princes’ Islands. There are nine islands, and we disembark at the largest and most famous one called BUYUK ADA.
During the Byzantine days, the islands collectively formed a religious center with many monasteries. The name “Princes’ Islands” derives from the princes sent there in exile. Those were the ones regarded as pretenders to the throne.
In the afternoon, tour of the island by horse carriages (phaeton), visit Ayia Yorgi Church and Monastery dating back to 6th century and free time at the local market.
